Description: The Embassy of Montenegro located at 1610 New Hampshire Avenue, N.W., in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Built around 1892 as a private residence, the Georgian Revival-style building is designated as a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Previous occupants include the A. K. Rice Institute, Charles L. McCawley, Sarah H. McCawley (grandmother of Henry Cabot Lodge and daughter of Frederick T. Frelinghuysen), the Washington School of Psychiatry, and the William Alanson White Foundation.
