Description: Variety of extant strepsirrhine primates (lemuriforms), from top, left to right: Ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta) Diademed Sifaka (Propithecus diadema) Aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis) Black-and-white ruffed lemur (Varecia variegata) Gray mouse lemur (Microcebus murinus) Nycticebus kayan Gray slender loris (Loris lydekkerianus) Northern greater galago (Otolemur garnettii) Note: An alternative taxonomy places lorisoids in their own infraorder, Lorisiformes. By referring to all toothcombed primates as lemuriforms, it recognizes their monophyly (to the exclusion of adapiforms) and gives the clade a taxonomic name.
