Description: The highlands of Central Kalimantan province in Indonesian Borneo are hidden by clouds in this image. However the lowlands to the north-west and south-east were shrouded with thick, grey smoke. MODIS detected dozens of fires (locations outlined in red) in the swampy, low-lying area north of the city of Banjarmasin, the capital of South Kalimantan.
