Description: ১৯৫২ সালের ২১ ফেব্রুয়ারী ভাষা আন্দোলন কালে ঢাকা-য় ছাত্র হত্যাকাণ্ডের পরপরই রাজশাহী কলেজের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থীরা ভাষা আন্দোলন-এ যুক্ত হয় এবং ভাষা আন্দোলনকে উৎসর্গ করে শহীদদের স্মরণে একটি শহীদ মিনার নির্মান করেন যাকে দেশের প্রথম শহীদ মিনার মনে করা হয়। ১৯৬৯ সালে নির্মিত স্মৃতিস্তম্ভটি ১৯৭১ সালে পাক হানাদার বাহিনী ধ্বংস করে ফেলে।
