Description: Fried silkworm (Bombyx mori) larvae (misidentified: I think some kind of bean grub) sold by a street vendor in Jinan, China. They swell and turn brown when fried; the rightmost specimen has a bite taken out of it. The exterior is a bit tough and chewy (salted and greasy), while the inside is somewhat bland with a tofu-like consistency.
