Description: Minister-president Rutte heeft vanavond gesproken met zijn Britse collega Cameron op diens buitenverblijf Chequers. Op de agenda stonden actuele Europese dossiers, zoals de versterking van de interne markt en het Europese klimaat-, energie- en industriebeleid. Daarnaast is vooruitgeblikt op de Europese Verkiezingen van eind mei en de instelling van de nieuwe Europese Commissie. Het Nederlandse kabinet maakt zich er sterk voor dat de nieuwe Europese Commissie duidelijke prioriteiten stelt volgens het motto ‘Europees wat moet, nationaal wat kan’. Door zich te richten op de kerntaken kan Europa beter functioneren ten behoeve van groei, banen en stabiliteit.
