Description: Grand Union Canal: Metropolitan Line viaduct Taken on the day when about 13 centimetres of snow fell in Watford, this viaduct carries London Underground's Metropolitan Line railway across the canal towards its Watford terminus. The canal was built as the Grand Junction Canal in the 1790s. The railway is a much later addition, the line opening in 1925.
