Description: Left: This is Plate XI from "Cretaceous Reptiles of the United States" (1865). All of the fossils shown are vertebrae (neck, back and tail bones) from Hadrosaurus foulkii. The first thee vertebrae in the top row are cervical vertebrae (neck bones). The two remaining vertebrae in the top row and the first three from the second row are vertebrae from the back. The remaining vertebrae are from the tail. These vertebrae range from 5-8 inches (12-20 cm) in width. Right: This is Plate XIV from "Cretaceous Reptiles of the United States" (1865). All of these bones are from Hadrosaurus foulkii. The first four items in the top row are different vies of the humerus (upper arm bone). The last two items in the top row are the radius and ulna (forearm bones). The first four items of the bottom row are metatarsi (foot bones), while the last two bones are phalanges (finger bones). The arm bones are each about 21 inches (55 cm) long. The metatarsi are about 11 inches (28 cm) long and the phalanges are about 6 inches (15 cm) long.
