Description: The 1831 Federal-style Hamilton-Holly House at 4 St. Marks Place between Second and Third Avenues, in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was owned by Col. Alexander Hamilton (son of Alexander Hamilton), who bought it in 1833 from the developer, Thomas E. Davis. It later became a meeting hall and apartments, and home base for experimental theatre companies from 1956 to 1967. It was designated a NYC landmark in 2004. (Source: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.)) The building has been the location of the "Trash & Vaudeville" clothing store since the early 1970s.
