Description: This handkerchief was produced as a souvenir of the Canadian Dionne Quintuplets, five sisters born in Ontario, Canada, in 1934. They were the first quintuplets to survive infancy, and were made wards of the state under the Dionne Quintuplets Guardianship Act of 1935. They were controversilly turned in a tourist attaction, and much merchandise was produced. It belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.
