Image: Hands Up! Old Vail Post Office Pantano Safe Arizona 2014
Description: A historical marker on the Old Vail Post Office in Vail, Arizona, about the old safe found in Pantano Wash (Cienega Creek) in 1932. The safe was believed to have been left in the wash by bandits in 1887. It sat on the front porch of the finder's home in Pantano for many years after it's discovery. The pictures show the safe being hauled out of the wash and loaded into the back of a truck, as well as a mock "hold up" in 1932.
