Description: The Hebrew Tabernacle of Washington Heights at 551 Fort Washington Avenue at the corner of West 185th Street across from Bennett Park in the Hudson Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1931-32 as the Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, and was designed by Cherry & Matz in the Art Moderne style. The Hebrew Tabernacle moved there in 1973 from 609 West 161st Street, which is now a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. The Hebrew Tabernacle congregation was founded in 1906.
