Description: The changing layout of platforms and tracks at Herne Hill railway station. Track curves, crossovers and some minor sidings (i.e. used only to stable engines) omitted for clarity. 1862: Original building with platform (accessed from upper floor); one island platform 1870: Two sidings added to the west (closest used as bay platform) and another line added to the east 1884: Two island platforms, with one track between them; plus a freight line 1925: Building platform and western sidings removed; western island platform moved further west; two tracks between platforms. 1966: Freight line closed. 2009: Former freight line converted into siding.
