Image: Houston Carnegie Library 1904
Description: The Carnegie Library was located at the corner of Travis Street and McKinney Avenue. The lot for the building was purchased from the First Presbyterian Church around 1900-1901, with the library opening in 1904. The lot and building were sold back to the Church twenty-four years later. The building was deemed too small fifteen years after it was built.
