Description: The Jim Bales Place in the Roaring Fork Historic District, GSMNP, in East Tennessee. The barn (foreground) and corn crib (in distance, on the left) belonged to the Bales family. The cabin (in the distance, center) originally belonged to Alex Cole, and was located just below Cole Cemetery in the Sugarlands to the west. The cabin was moved to the Bales farm to replace the Bales' more modern frame house.
