Description: Joggins Fossil Cliffs, just below the Joggins Fossil Center, near Joggins, Nova Scotia. The rocks exposed in the cliff comprise sandstones and shales (and subordinate coal and bituminous limestone) of the uppermost portion of the Joggins-Formation (left) and the lowermost portion of the overlying Springhill Mines Formation (right, towards the headland), Cumberland-Group, Pennsylvanian of the Cumberland Basin.
