Description: Born María Dolores de Tosta, at 15 in 1844 she became the second wife of Mexican political and military leader Antonio López de Santa Anna. This was painted 11 years later. Tosta lived primarily in Mexico City while Santa Anna travelled the country, so they rarely saw each other. They had no children.
