The banner across the wall was made by Spanish Loyalist prisoners. It says “LOS ESPAÑOLES ANTIFASCISTAS SALUDAN A LAS FUERZAS LIBERADORAS” ("The Spanish Antifascists greet the Liberating Forces"). The text is written in English and Russian ("Испанские антифашисты приветствуют освободителей") as well.
