Description: Photo of the boyhood house of Ned Kelly built by Ned Kelly's father, John 'Red' Kelly in 1859, located on the corner of Kelly and Stewart Street, Beveridge, Victoria. In 1859, John Kelly bought 21 acres and built the cottage using accessible bush materials. There were two rooms, with a calico partition in the main main room, creating a third. The second room was a small dairy or coolstore, and beyond the house there was a milking shed and stables. In 1864 James Stewart bought the house and added nine more rooms. The house is included in the Victorian Heritage Register.
