Description: Kemal Atatürk Memorial, as refurbished in 2007 in time for ANZAC Day. The memorial is opposite the Australian War Memorial on ANZAC Parade in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The refurbishment involved erecting pink-granite columns at the points of the star that encompasses the memorial. Four of these have a placard in English and Turkish telling some of the story of the relationship between the countries and the relationship with Atatürk. Flowers and wreaths were those laid on ANZAC Day, 25 April 2007. Picture taken 26 April 2007.
