Description: Libretto of the first opera staged in Vilnius, Lithuania. Opera Il ratto di Helena (English: Abduction of Helena) was staged on 4 September 1636 in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania by the order of Grand Duke Władysław IV Vasa. Libretto based on antiquity scenes was written by Virgilio Puccitelli and published by the Vilnius Academy Press. It is believed that this opera's music author was Marco Scacchi.
