Image: Liphistius.sp.small

Description: spider of the genus Liphistius, in familiy Liphistiidae, in suborder Mesothelae (German: Gliederspinnen). Picture taken in Innbruck from a collection of Peter Schwendinger. This is a small image file with quite low resolution but it is the first mesothelae picture on wikipedia, so don't complain. This species is mentioned in the 2005 book Life in the Undergrowth by David Attenborough, containing a large hi res photo, but permission would be required from the publisher or other official body in order to uplaod it to here.
