Image: Logging in Finnish Lapland
Description: Intact Forest Landscape being logged in Northern Finland, January 2009. Location: Jooseppitunturi, Savukoski, Lapland. Hundreds of years old ancient forest is trashed for pulp and paper for Finnish paper giant Stora Enso, by governmental logging body Metsahallitus. According to 250 Finnish researchers and scientists, logging in old-growth forests is unsustainable and in conflict with international agreements that Finland has signed to protect biodiversity.
