Description: Astronauts James McDivitt, David Scott, and Russell Schweickart undergoing preliminary training in the first Block II Apollo Command Module CM-101, at the North American Aviation plant in Downey, California, for what was originally planned to be the second manned Apollo mission, designated AS-258, testing the Lunar Module (LM) launched into Earth orbit by a second Saturn IB. They are wearing preliminary, blue versions of the Block II Apollo A7L spacesuit. The next day, the crew of the first manned Apollo mission were killed in a cabin fire in their Block I Command Module, CM-012. CM-101 was eventually flown by Walter M. Schirra, Donn F. Eisele and R. Walter Cunningham as Apollo 7. McDivitt's crew eventually flew the LM mission with CM-104 as Apollo 9.
