Description: Photographed late in the evening from near the sea cliffs at Tapuae, on Surf Highway 45. Mount Taranaki (2,518m / 8,261 ft) is our local stratovolcano which last erupted back in the 1850's or 1860's, although popular belief dates the last eruption back to the "Tahurangi Ash" of 1755. The native bush covered Pouakai Range lies in the foreground of this photograph.
