Description: *Hon. Louisa Pitt (1754–1791), was born in 1754 (or 1756) in Stratfield-Say, Southampton, Hampshire, England, the daughter of the British diplomat and politician George Pitt, 1st Baron Rivers (1721 –1803) and Penelope Atkins. She married English peerage Sir Peter Beckford (1740 - 1811) on 22 March 1773 in Dorset. Sir Peter Beckford was a writer, a huntsman, and the cousin of the English novelist William Thomas Beckford (1760-1844) who is the author of the famous Gothic novel Vathek. From 22 March 1773, her married name became Louisa Beckford (Mrs. Peter Beckford). Louisa Beckford had an affair with her husband’s cousin William Beckford after her marriage. She died in 1791.
