Description: Mt. Forbes in Alpenglow, as seen from Arctomys Peak. The normal route is up the North Glacier (barely visible from the lower right corner) to a point about in the centre of the base of the NW face, and diagonally right up to the West ridge, and then follow the ridge (or 20 metres inside of it) to the summit. This shark-toothed shape mountain is: "A striking peak that is predominantly seen from many parts of the range. The normal route, the NW face and the N Ridge all are well worth climbing."[1] Arctomys is an easy walk up from one of the usual Mt. Lyell bivys (at the Lyell Icefield / Arctomys Peak col).
