Description: A wooded hillside on the original alignment of the National Road in far western Marshall Township, Clark County, Illinois, United States. This hillside, which slopes down to a small creek, was once spanned by a large stone-arch bridge, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Although the bridge is gone, the site remains on the Register. The site is federal property; according to documentation attached to its National Register nomination, the federal government has never sold nor given the land to any other party.
