Description: Neill Log House located at East Circuit Road near Serpentine Drive in Schenley Park in the Squirrel Hill South neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 10, 2010. The log house was built circa 1787 (or before) and once belonged to the family of Robert Neill, and later to Col. James O'Hara and his granddaughter Mary Schenley (for whom the park is named). The house was in use during a time when Indian raids in the area occasionally occurred. These days it sits preserved in Schenley Park with a fence around it (though it is open to the public periodically), and it is on the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations as well as the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks. The log house is also featured on the cover of A Guidebook To Historic Western Pennsylvania by Helene Smith and George Swetnam (the original 1976 version and the Revised 1991 version).
