Image: New Mexico 71 years ago today

Description: "Mountain pass west of Lordsburg, New Mexico, June 13, 1939" is typed on the negative envelope. That's our 1939 Ford in the photo. I was 15 and had recently gotten my drivers license so I did lots of driving on this trip. I recall the vast emptiness of the West between cities. I enjoyed viewing the large size of the interesting countryside and also noticed the AAA emblem atop the license plate.
