Description: The Newton D. Baker House, also known as the Thomas Beall House and the Jacqueline Kennedy House, located at 3017 N Street, N.W., in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., United States. Built in 1794, the three-story Federal-style mansion originally served as the private residence of Thomas Beall, a wealthy businessman, real estate speculator, and mayor of Georgetown. In addition to Beall, previous occupants of 3017 N Street, N.W., include U.S. Representative George Peter, U.S. Secretary of War Newton Diehl Baker, Jr., and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. The Newton D. Baker House was designated a National Historic Landmark (NHL) in 1976; in addition, the house is designated as a contributing property to the Georgetown Historic District, a NHL listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1967. As of 2010, the property value of 3017 N Street, N.W., is $3,364,010.
