Description: Canyon wall, Oak Creek Canyon, Arizona Uploaded on April 20, 2005 by kevinzim http://www.flickr.com/photos/86624586@N00/10194359/in/set-296110 Note the complexity of the bedding, probably members of the Schnebly Hill Formation, (Bell Rock Member, Apache Limestone Member, etc). Below the darker middle section, is a cross-bedded dune member (fossil, lee slopes, on dunes), laid on a flat surface, and planed flat on top. The Pedregosa Sea advanced northwest to the Sedona region, and left the Schnebly Hill Formation; the Apache Limestone Member is thin at Sedona, but 100 ft thick west in the White Mountains region, both areas the north extensions of the Pedregosa Sea.
