Description: Virginia state historic marker near the location of patriot and Virginia governor Patrick Henry's Leatherwood plantation, which eventually encompassed over 10,000 acres in what later became Henry County, named for him. Henry lived on his Leatherwood plantation, near his friend General Joseph Martin, from 1779 to 1784. In that year he moved to Chesterfield County, Virginia.
