Description: Photo taken by Connie Barlow 11 October 2020 at the orchard of Marc Boone near Ann Arbor, Michigan. The yellow leaves of pawpaw contrast with the orange leaves of a Sugar Maple (and dark green of planted conifers) in the forest adjacent to the orchard. Boone does not use carrion to attract pollinators. Abundant fruit production indicates that insect pollinators are adequate at this site, with no human assistance.
