Description: A map of the Port Phillip District of New South Wales, as it was in 1839. The District's borders were fixed for the first time when Charles La Trobe was appointed Superintendent of the District that year. The District was defined to consist of that part of New South Wales south of 36°S latitude, and between 141°E (that is, the border with South Australia) and 146°E longitude.
