Description: A TriMet bus on line 19-Glisan pulling up to the NE/Purple Raindrops sector bus stop on 6th Avenue just north of Stark Street, on the Portland Transit Mall, in the last week of service before a two-year closure of the mall for renovation and rebuilding to add MAX light rail tracks. This stop was in front of the historic Bank of California Building (built 1924–25), which at the time of the photo was lettered for Bidwell & Company, a stock-brokerage firm that had owned the building from late 1999 until 2004 and occupied it from late 2000 until 2004. The building was vacant at the time of the photo. The large bus-stop passenger shelter, dating from 1977, was removed soon after this. The comparatively modern office tower in the background is the "400 SW Sixth Avenue" building.
