Description: One of the surviving walls of Group A of the Portsmouth Earthworks, located on the northern side of Kentucky Route 8 immediately east of Bentley Lane in South Portsmouth, Kentucky, United States. Built by prehistoric Hopewellian peoples, the earthworks are an archaeological site and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and they are part of a Register-listed historic district, the Lower Shawneetown Archeological District.
