Description: This image shows the QAPF diagram used to classify igneous rocks. The rhyolite field has been highlighted in yellow. When it is impractical to determine the mineral composition of a volcanic rock, due to its glassy or very fine-grained nature, chemical classification based on the TAS diagram is used instead.
