Description: Picture of the house at Robin Hill located at 949 Thorn Run Road in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, on July 20, 2010. The area where the house is located is known as Robin Hill Park, and it includes about 200 acres, walking trails, an herb garden, a carriage house (now home of the Moon Area Senior Citizen's Center), a log house from the 1800s, and this twenty-four room Georgian-style house (which is now a community center). It was built in 1926, designed by architect Henry Gilchrist, and is on the List of Pittsburgh Landmarks recognized by the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation (PHLF). A sign on the front of the house says the following: "Robin Hill Park – Donated by Mary Spencer Nimick (1893–1971) – Having lived the last forty-five years of her life at Robin Hill with her husband Francis Bailey Nimick, and their six children and aware of the increasing population growth in the area in 1970, Mary Nimick graciously bequested through her will, the family's 53-acre property to Moon Township with the proviso that it be 'for perpetual use as a park or a wildlife refuge and for the enjoyment of the residents of said township and their friends. Said property to be known thereafter as Robin Hill Park or Robin Hill Wildlife Refuge.' Moon Township accepted her bequest in 1971, and together with the Robin Hill Associates, has worked to add additional acreage to the Park and to create a popular community center."
