Description: Rotring S0214750 bow compass with Rapidograph 0.5 mm technical pen drawing 1.5–15 mm diameter circles. The minimum circle radius is smaller than 1.5 mm—it's largely determined by the width of the pen tip. How this photo was made: The compass was standing on a acrylic plate, pressing down on the prepared circles on a pice of tracing paper. The mounted technical pen was empty to avoid a mess. The compass was held in place by pressing a plastic needle on the knob at the top, which was later removed. Black background achieved by a tent of black fabric. Lighting by diffused flashes left and right. Post-processing involved masking everything to make the BG pure black and recreating the satin surface to make it all look tidier.
