Description: St. Xavier Mission Church and Rectory on the NRHP since August 17, 1990. On the Big Horn River in the Crow Indian Reservation in St. Xavier, Big Horn County, Montana. THE JESUITS ESTABLISHED A PERMANENT MISSION HERE IN FEBRUARY 1887 ON THE CROW INDIAN RESERVATION. THEY WERE ENCOURAGED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE PRESENT CHURCH AND RECTORY WERE BUILT
