Description: Charters Towers Stock Exchange, 1891 A scene in Mosman Street outside the Stock Exchange during a brief speculation boom in October 1891. [Description supplied with photograph] Other buildings visible include Harry Jeff's Mining Exchange Hotel, J. Sheen - taylor, and J. Moore's hairdressing establishment. A horse and carriage appear in the street. The stock exchange building began life in 1888 as the Royal Arcade. It was converted into a stock exchange in 1890.
