Description: Steam engine, Landore Works This was the Landore works of the Yorkshire Imperial Metal Company and was in use until 1980. Its alleged preservation led to the failure to preserve a smaller example at Abercarn. It was built by J Musgrave of Bolton in 1910 under license to the Stumpf patent uniflow design and is an important survivor (if this state can be called survival). The gates designed to keep intruders out could be lifted off their hinges and then replaced at will.
