Description: Front view of the Subrahmanya Temple, Saluvanakuppam. The temple was excavated after the Indian Ocean tsunami. The lowest layer of the site consisting of a brick shrine dates back to the Sangam period and might be the oldest of its kind to be discovered in Tamil Nadu. The shards of pottery (lower, right) are believed to be Sangam age artifacts.
