Description: The memorial monument "In remembrance of the relation between relatives west and east of the ocean" The monument is placed in Rottneros along the road E45 outside of Sunne in Värmland, Sweden. It is raised to honour and remember all the immigrants from Finland and also to them who emigrate to America. The eagle made of bronze on the top of the monument and the granit-monumet itself was made by the Finnish artist Jussi Mäntynen and inagurated june 22 1953. It was ordered and all paied for by, the owner of The Rottneros Works, Svante Påhlson. Present at the expensive inaguration was a minister of Finland, the ambassador of USA and the local county governor, Acke Westling, as well as a lot of prominent persons. The two latest regents of Sweden has been visiting and signed the monument on their royal tour of the country, Gustaf VI Adolf june 27 1953 and Carl XVI Gustaf september 11 1974.
