Description: Monument to Jana Ueekata, Ryukyuan official who lost his head in 1611 for refusing to swear loyalty to Satsuma (Japan). Monument located in public park in Wakasa/Naminoue area of Naha, Okinawa. Photo taken myself (LordAmeth). Explanation of inscription: Tei Dō Rizan (鄭迵 利山) was ueekata (親方) of Jana (謝名). This is a honorary stele (顕彰碑, kenshōhi).
