Description: Head of Minerva (Athena). Greek marble. Ist century AD, Museo di Santa Giulia, Brescia, Italy. Found on the slopes of the Cidneo Hill in Brescia in 1828. The piece is a roman copy after a Greek original in bronze, possibly by Phidias. The statue originally wore a helmet, now lost, as shown by the unsculpted top of the head.
