Description: "The Canadian Phalanx", marble relief by Ivan Meštrović, located in Ottawa, Canada, with the Memorial Arch across Lyon Street (that links the East and West Memorial Buildings) visible overhead. This World War I memorial forms part of the Canadian War Memorial Collection which was given to Canada in 1920 as a gift by Lord Beaverbrook. The granite architecture frame in which it was set was designed by D.A. Topolski in 1972. The memorial arch bears the following inscription, taken from Ecclesiasticus: "ALL THESE WERE HONOURED IN THEIR GENERATIONS AND WERE THE GLORY OF THEIR TIMES"
