Description: The Himalayan black bears go in hibernation during winters. To survive this winter period, the bears need to eat and store fats before they go to hibernate. The changing weather pattern often results in a lack of available natural food and as a result, the bears get attracted to villages where they end up preying on livestock or granaries. They tend to spend a lot of time in trees in order to avoid their main predator...people. Asiatic bears make “nests” in trees for sleeping in the summer months and use twigs to make comfortable beds in the snow in winter.
