Y. © C.P.R.Co.. 1948 UText Appearing After Image:3 cups sifted all-purpose flour 4 teaspoons baking powder1 /2 teaspoons salty-l cup shortening1 cup milk Ploce first three ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil overmedium heat and boil 1 minute. Pour into 9-inch square cake pan.Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening withpastry blender or two knives. Add milk to make soft dough. Turnout on floured board. Roll into rectangle Va inch thick. Spread withRaisin Nut Filling. Roll as for jelly roll. Cut into 1-inch slices andplace cut side up in syrup. Bake in moderate oven (375CF.) 45 min-utes. Let stand in pan about 2 minutes. Invert pan toremove buns. Makes 16 buns. Raisin Nut Filling: Combine Va cup KARO Syrup, BlueLabel and 2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine;spread over surface of dough.
